Last Stop: Seattle Promo Tour!

Saturday I filled my car with t-shirts and hit the road a final time.  This time I was cruising around the Sea-Tac area stopping at pretty much all the I-5 corridor Zumiez locations.  Again my purpose was to hype up all the store managers and staff at each location.  Timing was awesome since it was the first weekend of the 'Back to School' retail season and all those employees will have Casual fresh on their minds, and backs because I gave them all t-shirts, ha!

I went into each store with a shirt for the store manager, their one or two assistant managers, and a few extra promo t's.  I am having each shop do a "Casual day" where every employee wears a casual t-shirt and there's a sales contest for Casual Ind. products where the winner gets a shirt of their choice.  Everyone was PUMPED. Casual shirts are like crack.  Keep posted as I will post the photos they send me to this blog.  Here's each location with their display, manager, and lucky employees that were working that day.

Portland Promo Tour, Windells, and Videograss Premiere: woo hoo!

Snowboarders, or a rioting angry mob?
...that was intense.  What day is it?

At the last second I hopped in the car with some buddies headed down to Oregon to do some work and visit some important shops in Portland, and perhaps indulge in some nightlife activities too.  I took this as a chance to visit some of Casual's accounts in Portland (probably our second most popular region) and spread the love and the good word.  I also got the chance to do some subtle promoting at Windell's and at the Videograss world premiere of their latest flick "Bon Voyage."

The shops were awesome, we got to skate at Windell's out of session, and we attended the most insane premiere that I've ever been too.  It was an action packed three days, take a look...

Selection at Clackamas Zumiez, some regional Oregon graphics too...

Casual Ind. @ Nordstrom DT

The day after SouthCenter, we packed up again and moved our portable print station to Nordy's downtown Seattle location on Pine and 5th Avenue; quite the change in scenery outside anyway.  Downtown's staff was just as hyped on Casual and loved to wear and sell our stuff.  Did I mention all the employees wore Casual shirts for the day? (at SouthCenter too!).  Well they did so that was rad.

Everything was going smoothly until our dryer decided to short-circuit and stop working, knocking the computers out of wack for a second as well.  Naturally, we had to cease operations, making the exclusive t's printed even more hard to get, what'd ya know?  Anyway we just kept taking orders and Gino finished at the Garage at a later date.  Photo documentations...

Casual @ Nordstrom South Center

This Friday we started our Nordstrom-exclusive promotional event series for their popular Anniversary Sale, starting out at SouthCenter Mall.  We packed up the Casual 'van' and headed south to Tukwila with our printing gear.  We set up shop in "The Rail" section of their store where the Casual shirts are displayed and slung.  We were there to hype out the customers and employees and do a live screen printing featuring two in-line Casual graphics as well as an exclusive one that was designed by Casual artists using the ideas of the employees at Nordstrom.  They appropriately chose a graphic with phone line and street sign  that read "South Central."

The event was super fun and interesting since we were hanging out with not the most usual of Casual's clientele, but just as enthusiastic and pumped on our company.  I think we ended up printing a shirt for every employee in that department, and then some.  We sold a handful to shoppers as well since Nordy's had advertised our appearance beforehand on their newsletter.  Here are some photos....

Casual Industrees X EVO @ VitaminWater Social Club

Thursday night we hit the town and threw an event with EVO at VitaminWater Social Club (aka Soul Repair) on Capital Hill.  VitaminWater provided the prime location, as well as liquid refreshments (both adult and non-) by the gallons.  EVO came to party, promote, and play their skate team video all while we were printing exclusive Casual & EVO collab t's for the night (lucky first 10 were free!). It went off with a bang. The SkullCandy wagon even showed up to toss free headphones and cause a traffic jam.  Let's just say a  crowd of skater groms were hyped that day on free exclusive t's, skate videos and all the VitaminWater they could drink.   Us 'Adults' were hyped on free beer, weird.  Here's the photos....

[The Casual Snapshot]

A little background info:         Keeping it local....and casual...

Casual Industrees is a small but very successful clothing and lifestyle company that was founded in a garage on the side of Hwy 542 in Bellingham, WA in 1999.  The company has since moved to West Seattle and has upgraded from a garage to an entire house, which acts as their warehouse, design and sample production facility, as well as headquarters for all business operations.  With their roots in snowboarding and skateboarding, Casual has transformed over time into a niche lifestyle company that focuses on creativity and quality, all with an in-house staff of under ten employees.

Casual specializes in unique and localized graphic designs made famous mostly by their t-shirts, but also featured on sweatshirts and headwear.  At one time, all print production was done in-house, but with recent growth they have moved high-volume production to a few contracted national screen printers in Washington and California, keeping it as local as possible.

Casual Industrees continually sets its own standards and follows in no one's footsteps, embracing their own brand identity.  The company proudly practices a business model of open-mindedness and flexibility. Through their appealing graphic design and creative tie to Northwest and Seattle culture,  Casual has created a contemporary and differentiated brand in literally an ocean of "t-shirt companies."  They have created a community-like base of loyal consumers, and as well a large set of potential customers as they grow and move forward.
